Dr. Kristen Evans

Dr. Kristen I. Evans is an assistant professor in the Reich College of Education's Department of Child Development, Literacy, and Special Education. She has been an elementary teacher for nearly two decades and has been an adjunct professor at Kent State University.

Her research interests include the literacy practices of elementary students, particularly in the areas of writing, reading comprehension, and oral language. She is also interested in writing and reading teacher preparation. She is a  member of LRA and NCTE. She has publications in literacy journals such as The Reading Teacher and Literacy Research and Instruction, as well as giving several presentations at the LRA annual conference.

Evans earned a Ph.D. from Kent State University and an M.Ed. from John Carroll University.
