Kelley Wilson is an experienced educator with 18 years of dedicated service in various educational roles, including classroom teacher, literacy specialist, and lecturer.
Currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Learning and Leadership at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Kelley has a strong commitment to advancing educational practices through both practical experience and academic insights. Her educational background includes a Master’s in Reading Education and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, both from Appalachian State University. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher in Middle Childhood, with recertification achieved in 2019.
Previously, as an Early Literacy Specialist with NC DPI and Watauga County Schools, Kelley guided data analysis and curriculum implementation, supporting district leadership teams and developing impactful literacy practices. She has a proven track record in mentoring, professional development, and curriculum design. Additionally, her international experience as a Board Member Chair for Real Love Academy in Haiti highlights my commitment to global educational development.
She has contributed to the field through publications in educational journals and presentations at national and state conferences. Her professional development includes extensive training in various educational methodologies and leadership programs, such as LETRS, Letterland, and SIOP. Her research interests include field experiences related to the science of reading and how it helps increase student achievement.
